Dr. Johnson founded Jen Johnson Consulting in January of 2020, and in January of 2024 rebranded to Human Factor. The name of the company represents a focus on the contributions and impact of people and humanity on outcomes, whether those outcomes are profits, community impact, or student achievement.
Central to Human Factor is an evidence-based, compassionate approach to helping organizational leaders make structural and functional changes that remove barriers preventing humans from achieving the best possible outcomes for the organization.

Dr. Jen Johnson is the founder and CEO of Human Factor.
She started her career in K-12 education without having any concept of burnout management. She experienced burnout herself while she was a teacher and couldn’t find resources to help her.
Dr. Johnson returned to school to study educational psychology and emotional and behavioral disorders where she learned the ins and outs of research, program development, and evaluation. She applied that learning to develop her proprietary, research-based burnout management model, THRIV. She strives to provide the resources she wished she had when she experienced burnout.
Dr. Johnson is the bestselling author of THRIVing After Burnout: A Teacher’s Compassionate Guide and is scheduled to release her new book about corporate burnout in 2024.
